Oblivion

You say you forgive and yet

you keep the list

You say you forgive and yet

you raise your fist

You say you forgive and yet

You say you forgive and yet

You say you forgive and yet

Why don’t you forget ?

Nobody ever regrets

No one is asking pardon

No one is seeking pardon

Nobody ever regrets

The only peace is silence

The only peace is silence

The only peace is silence

The rest is oblivion

A Poison Tree  (William Blake - 1794)

I was angry with my friend;

I told my wrath, my wrath did end.

I was angry with my foe:

I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I waterd it in fears,

Night & morning with my tears:

And I sunned it with smiles,

And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night.

Till it bore an apple bright.

And my foe beheld it shine,

And he knew that it was mine.

And into my garden stole,

When the night had veild the pole;

In the morning glad I see;

My foe outstretched beneath the tree.

The River  (Thomas Campbell - 1875)

The more we live, more brief appear

Our life's succeeding stages;

A day to childhood seems a year,

And years like passing ages.

The gladsome current of our youth,

Ere passion yet disorders,

Steals lingering like a river smooth

Along its grassy borders.

It may be strange—yet who would change

Time's course to slower speeding,

When one by one our friends have gone,

And left our bosoms bleeding?

Heaven gives our years of fading strength

Indemnifying fleetness;

And those of youth, a seeming length,

Proportion'd to their sweetness.

The Flowers Hate Us       (From the Flame)

(Leonard Cohen -Copyright © Old Ideas LLC, 2018)

the flowers hate us

the animals pray for our death

as soon as i found out

i murdered my dog

now i knew what they were up to

the daisy the iris the rose

why there was no peace among men

why nothing worked

there is no going back

throw out your friend's bouquet

kill the animals all of them

but don't eat their meat

now that i know what they're thinking

their sex organs in the air

their stinking fur

and their tug at the heart

what they would do to us if they won

how great it will be without them

just getting on with our short lives

which are longer than theirs

and until now, sadder

the flowers hate us

the animals pray for us to die

as soon as i found out

i murdered my dog

They hate us

They pray for us to die

(Wake up America)

Murder your dog

Nothing Gold Can Stay (Robert Frost - 1923)

Nature’s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf’s a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.

Love Me

Love me in the Springtime

Love me in the Summertime

Love me in the Autumn

Love me in the Wintertime

Love me when I'm happy, and even when I'm sad,

Love me when I'm good, or when I'm oh so bad,

Love me when I'm silent, Love when I’m vain

Love me when I'm feeling good, or when I'm feeling pain.

Love me always darlin', in the rain or shining sun,

Love me always darlin', after all is said and done,

Love me always darlin', until all our life is through,

Love me always darlin', for I'll be lovin' you !

Standing still

Gazing at the still blue sky

Standing still in a long lasting still life

Droppings traces on the run

Little feathers in the sun

Sparrow thrills

The Rain

D’après un Haiku de Cathie Porte et Evelyne Damato

Night has gone… Birds away… Away from so much grey

Musical strokes and pearl grey sky

On the window pane… The rain

Absolute Sleepless Night

T’was an absolute sleepless night

Round and round, the golden moonlight

Woven hours like a spider web

The storm thundered the storm rumbled

Thunder rang out thunder sounded

the lull finally, finally a calm down.

Not everyone

Because of my flag

Because of your flag

Because of my team

Because of your dream

Because of your money

Because of your god

Because of my honey

Because of my blood

Because of your mother

Because of my daughter

Because of the government

and the immigrants

Because of the rich

Because of the poor

Because of this bitch

Because of my neighbor

Anger is the man’s best friend

Anger is the man’s best friend

Anger is the man’s best friend

Not everyone is lucky enough to be happy

Not everyone is lucky enough to be happy

Not everyone is lucky enough to be happy

Not everyone is happy enough to be lucky.

Goa’s Gone

Gone with the flowers

Gone with the smoke

Gone with the dance

Gone with the wind

Gone with the waves

Gone with the sand

Gone with the sun

Gone with the wind

What Have I done ?

Tears …

Sorry for the things I’ve said

And sorry for those never told

Sorry for the price being paid

Sorry for the crap been sold

Sorry for the hate we’ve made

And the bitterness unfolded

Tears can’t stop the fire

We don’t love the life because it’s good

We should love the life for it to be

We don’t love the life because it’s good

We should love the life for it to be

Sorry for those days of blindfolds

And the nights of living deads

When the room was burning red

And the corpses turning cold

Sorry for the hate we’ve made

And the bitterness unfolded

Tears can’t stop the fire

Sorry for the things I’ve said

And sorry for those never told

Sorry for the price being paid

Sorry for the crap been sold

Sorry for the hate we’ve made

And the bitterness unfolded

We don’t love the life because it’s good

But we should love it for it to be

We don’t love the life because it’s good

We should love the life for it to be.

By our Rivers

Once we were the springs of our rivers

Rolling with pebbles in the river

Eager to dive in the waters

Down by the river

Down by the river

Down by our rivers we flowed in different lives

Down by our rivers we held in different arms

Down by our rivers by the ocean by the sea

Down by the river

Down by the sea

……… by the river

……… in the river

……… in the waters

Down by the river

Down by the river

Down by our rivers we follow common lives

Down by our rivers we hold each others arms

Down by our rivers by the ocean by the sea

Down by the river

Down by the sea

No man ever steps in the same river twice

For it’s not the same river, not the same man on the site

No man ever steps in the same river twice

Down by the river

Down by the river

No man ever steps in the same river twice

For it’s not the same river, not the same man on the site

No man ever steps in the same river twice

Down by the river

Down by the river side by side.
